About Balaban and Katz Magazine

      Balaban and Katz Magazine started  in 1923 as a weekly publication of the Balaban and Katz Theatre Corporation. Its mission was  to tell theatre enthusiasts of Chicago what was playing in the beautiful Balaban and Katz Movie Palaces. Each edition of the Magazine included tantalizing Hollywood gossip and  advertisements from a broad range of local businesses in  the Chicago area.

     Today, Balaban and Katz Magazine serves two functions::

1) to preserve the history of the Balaban and Katz Theatre Corporation and life in Chicago in the 1920's.

2_ to become a local Chicago News Source for entertainmnet and politics.
